Hi guys. This may be my first parvi to bloom, or maybe my Norito Hasegawa :-dance: as this is 7" across and hasn't grown in leafspan the last 2 leaves or so. Healthy plant, enormous root system. Believe it or not I grow this and all my other paphs in saucers of water. They're all happy, with great roots. The only problem is that I don't know how I would 'tell' a parvi to bloom. From what I have read, parvis need some type of environmental change (dip in temps, less water, etc) to bloom. I'm dying to see how this one turns out. Any tips on blooming this guy?

I usually give my parvis a slight water rest and my grow room dips into the 60's in the winter. I don't water them as heavily. Larry Heur has emersonii in it which may make it a bit more of a reluctant bloomer. Not too sure though. My Norito is getting ready to spike. "sitting in a tray of H20" Wow! I would be caeful with that. But hey if it works for you. Try more light if necessary, maybe a magnesium shock(epsom salt watering) of some kind? Maybe some experts will chime in!

I bloom lots of parvi without anything other then the normal day to day temp. drop. I also don't cut back on watering as mine are growing in S/H. My lone suggestion to you would be more light. Even if it meant summering them outside. Just remember if you do decided to summer them outside put it in very dark shade and sloooooooooooowly move it into dappled light for part of the day. We don't want to burn those beautiful leaves. Truth be told a orchid outside in shade all of the day probable has more light then one inside growing under lights.
Hope this helps
