View Full Version : A Strange Phrag

This silly Phrag After-Glo 4N put out a new growth without roots about an inch above the soil line and I'm curious as to how to repot it. Split the difference between the old crown line and the newer one or pack some extra sphag in a mound around the base of the new growth? Intuition says do the latter choice until next repotting.

Condition of the plant matters so I'll say it's got 20 inch leaves on the main growth and the new has 12 inch leaves. The medium is decayed and it's outgrown the four inch plastic, short thing it's living in. Roots are fleshy but a deep brown to brownish cream color and long enough to encircle the inside of the pot a few times.

Any hints from the experts?

Hi Ernie,

I think Lienluu put out a post on the same subject. It is a little further down. I hope this link will get you to it:

It was called "Dealing with long Rhizomes."

Hope this helps!!!
