This is a small species with small pretty and delicate fragrant flowers. This one has been in bloom for months and still in bloom.

they do look like nice delicate flowers. Does the fragrance last for the whole length of the bloom?

Yes, it is. People have to be very careful because there are many Sedeniis and Cardinales sold as schlimiis!

Peter, it does look beautiful. What size pot was that? And what is the leafspan like?

Marcus, my schlimii, which is a mature growth (GRR, Spike will ya?) and a new start growing well, is in a 3" pot and is about 15" in leafspan, but leaves curl downwards some. It is quite compact, but I do have to elevate it on a second 3" pot so the leaves don't touch the tray.

Thanks. Now how do I differentiate a schlimii from Sedeniis and Cardinales ?

Marcus, at the time the plant was in a small 4 inch pot but I recently repotted it in a 6 inch pot. They grow quite fast and produce clumps very quickly. Also, be careful where you buy your schlimii from, many hybrids are being sold as the schlimii species for example Cardinale 'Wilcox' and 'Birchwood' come to mind. Buy from a reputable breeder/vendor or you'lll get stuck with a hyb! I also have a Cardinale 'Birchwood' which is also my favorite Phrag hybrid, I love it! I have posted pics of my Cardinale in the Phrag gallery. :D

Great looking Pete. I am really itching to try a smaller phrag under my lights in a nice window.

Very nice Pete.

By the way I'm getting good seed pods going on our philippinense venture.
