I was wondering if anyone could give me any basic care or point me to a good source of information on this species.

It should be a fairly easy to grow plant. I don't have one but I do have the parent species and I grow them with plenty of light, water, humidity and air flow. I know Heather has a yellow Mountain Maid also and she may give you some tips on growing it. Good luck and :welcome: to the slipper forum!

I have bought two from Parkside - one for my mom, and one for myself. Mine is in a south facing window and gets plenty of bright light. I water my phrags at least twice a week, more in the summer if necessary. I don't let this plant dry out but I am not one to usually set my Phrags in a dish of water, either. I grow it in a CHC/diatomite/perlite/charcoal mix, but it was happy in a bark mix also. My mother does not have enough light to grow her's well and I have told her to put it outside for the summer in hopes it will like the conditions more and rebloom for her.

I find it super easy and mine has rebloomed this year and will continue for months.
