Not sure - Orchids Limited made a Hanne Popow w/ it. They say it is the largest they've ever seen. So, made me curious as to how it compared...

Maybe it hasn't made it through the system yet. They may also have made the cross before the besseae was awarded. I'll try to remember to poke through the last few issues of AQ when I get home (those awards aren't in wildcatt yet).

No big deal or rush, I was mostly just curious.

So Peter - a bit larger than your bloom at 3 3/8" x about 2.5" (I don't have my perfect "dashboard" converter on this machine, but that's close anyway.)

Yes, it is but not by much and mine is still a young plant, so hopefully bigger flowers next time!

Yes, and I selfishly also was asking knowing I have a relative to your's. Hopefully mine will grow and bloom out well next time.

The black and white photo of the flower isn't too impressive. I am guessing it got damaged during the judging or something.

No, Awards Quarterly. I've got a nearly complete set and use the los.lon pic reference website for photos in the AQ and AOS bulletins. They didn't use the color photo of it in the AQ and luckily put a black and white photo with the description.
