this is my C. formosanum, growing in the garden for about 6 years now,
when I began with 1 growth and 0 flowers.
Now it has 33 growths and 8 flowers.
(25 growths and 6 flowers last year)
Flowers opened on Easter Sunday, later! than last years.

Do You need to cover them in winter/spring or have You planted them so that they are not tricked to wake up to early?

hi Joakim,
there is no doubt, that it is C. formosanum,
they came originally from famous Taiwan Chow Cheng Nursery
about 25 years ago.
In winter they are covered with a plastik foil to prevent becoming too wet from heavy rain,
when weather is not freezing, but they are not prevented to freeze.
