Alright, I'm finally done! I started Friday night and worked off and on until now. I think my plants are gonna love it! I put a top dressing of white pebbles to trap some of the moisture b/c the top was drying out fast. I used the new Primeagra. I'll let you all know how it works! From left to right: Phrag. China Dragon, phal. Daniella Ter Laag (currently my first pollination attempt!), paph Geoffrey Hands, paph. (Kolosand x Oberhausen's Diament, paph. Jack Tonkin "Robin", paph. Quasar, phrag. Stairway to Heaven.

Here's my phrag. Sorcerer's Apprentice. It was too big and heavy to fit on top of my fireplace. It's currently in low spike.

OK sorry, I've been too busy w/ school all week to jump on the forum. My plants are LOVING the semi-hydro! I will post pics as soon as I can, right now my mother-in-law has the dock for the digital camera, so it may be awhile. I left my plants outside the other night b/c my air conditioner went out, and incidentally it rained. That took care of watering for awhile. :p It is nice. I was watering almost all of my plants every morning, and now it's down to about once or twice a week. Not only that, but the water reservoirs also add alot of humidity, so i killed two birds with one stone. I love it, and my plants seem to as well. I plan on moving all of my plants to s/h as soon as they need repotting. I'm already seeing signs of new root growth thanks to transparent pots. Those have also helped out tremendously! Those of you who are skeptical about making the switch, I was too at first. Read some testimonials, see what's worked for other people with similar conditions to yours. Yea, you might loose some plants in the transition (I didn't), but I've lost plants by repotting into bark and charcoal. You know? Feel your plants out. If they look stressed, get them more shade and air movement. Don't treat it like quantum physics, it's a simple transition. All in all I'm sold on it.
