Hello all, has anyone had any experience with these Phrags? One is Phrag Alien Syndrome and the other is Phrag Mini Grande. Orchid Web has these as low to medium light. (So my east north/east window would do fine).

The other thing is, do you know if you could increase humidity without a humidifyer in the same room as the plants if you put one of those little water fall things amongst the plants (or am I losing my grip?).

Regards, m

I bought an Alien Syndrome from OL last year and I love it, it is actually one of my favorite hybrids! It has beautiful long petaled flowers and long grasslike graceful leaves but I think it may need very high light to bloom. Try one and see if it likes your conditions. Yes, those tabletop waterfalls will help build humidity for your plants. Here is a LINK (http://www.slipperorchidforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6050&highlight=alien+syndrome) to my Alien Syndrome.

A waterfall or fountain will help, especially if you have a fan cirulating air around it an enclosed room.

I love Mini Grande!

Hi guys, do any of you know where I can get a Phrag Mini Grande in Canada? Paramount doesn't know anything about this orchid but suggested the Phrag Memoria Garren Weaver as one similiar.

Orchid Web listed the Mini Grande as one that takes Low to Moderate lighting so I thought it might be worth a shot.

Yes, Phrag Memoria Garren Weaver should be somewhat similar, very pretty hybrid.

I don't know a place, but when my warscewiczianum blooms I will definitely cross it with one of those lower light lovers.

Phrag Betheva should be lower light and is available here in Canada. It is the pearcei that is low light in these crosses.

Try emailing other vendors to see if they have it. They might have it in their greenhouses, only not advertised on their webiste. Good luck!
