Paphraguy March 3rd, 2007, 04:28 PM I'm guessing the average NS of a delenatii flower is 3-4 inches? scooby5757 March 3rd, 2007, 04:46 PM I thought they were smaller...poo. Point of story being I picked one up today. I have one, it doesn't have any smell and I remember it being what I can only describe as normal size and color. The one I got was significantly larger than the others on a first blooming. Color isnt anything to write home about, but the smell!!! :biglove: I picked up to walk around with it while I looked around, and that is what did me in. It stunk! in a good way. Strong rose scent, I couldnt put it down...pictures coming. James March 3rd, 2007, 05:26 PM I cant wait to see the pics! My delenatii smelled a bit like lemons, but you had to get your nose right up to it. I think it was about 3 inches across. The delenatiis I saw at the SOOS show seemed even smaller than that. Slipperguy March 3rd, 2007, 05:46 PM Mine also smelled like roses and the flower was about 3 inches...cant wait to see your pics. Paphy57 March 7th, 2007, 07:12 PM I get a pine - sol scent from mine! LOL! ladyslipper March 8th, 2007, 05:55 PM I posted my note before reading the other with the delanit cross, is the difference each of you have in the smell of your paph delanti due the cross? scooby5757 March 8th, 2007, 10:59 PM I suppose if both parents smell nice, then there is a greater chance of that trait being passed on to the progeny. But like people, you can have a couple that has children and some are adorable and then a butt ugly kid. This cross didn't list the cv. of the parents. For the last 7 years, the quality of delenatii has improved. The flatness of the dorsal and petals are the most important thing for today standard. In addition, a darker pouch is preferred. Petals also need to be wide. RS hjohn April 13th, 2007, 03:24 PM My deli was 3in. John |
