How are other countries award systems different i might ask? Im currently a student judge and find it interesting that although similar all countries have differences. In Australia if you want to put a plant up for an award we dont have centres we can go to, we generally do it at our shows and or meetings as there has to be a minimum of 5 judges present and that isnt always the easiest thing to do here.

Please remeber that the Award of distinction in Australia and in the United States are not equivalent and comparable.

Maybe it would be useful to hear what the differences are between the two countries. We have quite a nice community of Aussie growers here.

It may be worth noting that the CCM and CCE are essentially awards for the grower of a particular plant rather than a quality award of the plant itself.

This makes it possible to get an AOS award for a species with allot of "history" by growing it exceptionally well although the plant quality is within the past awarded specifications for AM or FCC.

AM/AOS (Award of Merit) for 80-89 points
FCC/AOS (First Class Certificate) for 90 or more points.
