Paphraguy February 20th, 2007, 08:53 PM A photo or two should help and I hope it survives! goldenrose February 21st, 2007, 02:07 AM Cross your fingers! I had one Phrag.- Longueville (HannaPappow x longifolium) survive a freeze or near freeze. Daniel February 21st, 2007, 03:53 AM hope its ok Nynaeve February 21st, 2007, 07:31 AM I don't think there is anything you can do. Just wait and see if it pulls through! I have had several plants survive a slight frost. SOmetimes they lose a few leaves. Paphraguy February 21st, 2007, 08:39 AM They usually do survive as long as they are not left in the freezing cold for long period of time. Paphy57 February 21st, 2007, 09:05 AM OK, Here are some pics. I will include a flower picture too..........Oops! it did not let me post the flower pic. Stupid Computer!!!!:poke: Paphraguy February 21st, 2007, 09:10 AM Thanks for posting the photos. I think the plant will survive. Keep your fingers crossed! Good luck! Nynaeve February 21st, 2007, 01:19 PM It looks like there is enough green left that it will pull through. But it probably won't bloom until a new growth matures because the plant has been stressed. grandefan February 21st, 2007, 02:15 PM I don't think it's toast yet but keep it on the dry side and out of strong light. You may get some new growths. Best of luck Hien February 22nd, 2007, 10:24 AM I don't think it's toast yet but keep it on the dry side and out of strong light. You may get some new growths. Best of luck Nick , I agree with George. This is what I read on AOS magazine , sometimes the cold damaged plants will not show any symptom until they are provided with heat & light ( summer). To nurture them back, provide moisture (but not soaking w/ water) and keep them out of intense light & heat. Also plants that are supplied w/ protek (silica) supposedly withstand heat & cold better. That said, one of my plant, Lc Mishima'Luster Jean" just bites the dust. I think it is the only plant that has not been water for awhile, so the dry cold air actually sucks out every drop of moisture from the leaves. The leaves are not even brown, they are greyish white, extremely crispy & thin. Visualize a mummyfied plant & you get the picture. scooby5757 February 23rd, 2007, 12:38 PM  That sucks Hien! Though i got a good chuckle. It looks like the Bouley Bay will pull through, though. :p |
