View Full Version : Busy weekend!
scooby5757 February 5th, 2007, 10:46 AM So I hauled my grandparents to Atlantic City this weekend, (Disney World for the elderly) and made a stop at Waldor and picked up a plant that I have been itching to get my hands.
Phrag. Grande 'Nancy AM/AOS :woohoo:
Then took a drive to Parkside on Sunday and got...
Paph. Gloria Naugle
Paph. Shin-Yi Prince
Paph. lowii (in low sheath)
So, the phrag, shin-yi, and lowii all will take higher light warm temps.
But what about the Gloria Naugle? What do I have to do to get this sucker to bloom. High light or cooler temp? Any advice is welcome!

Very nice plants and choices! :clap2: How big is the Shin Yi's Prince? I was thinking of getting one. I don't have a Gloria Naugle so I can't really give you any culture tips. Post photos if you can. Thanks!
scooby5757 February 5th, 2007, 01:31 PM I'll try to take pictures tonight.
The Shin-Yi Prince is about 10-11 in. ls. It was the largest I could find. Only 45 bucks which I thought was pretty darn good.
PhragChic February 5th, 2007, 01:53 PM Yes, photos when you get a chance please! Lucky you with new plants :D. I can't get new ones because it's so cold outside that I'd probably kill them between the greenhouse and the parking lot.
Phooey.

 :Thnx:
Nynaeve February 5th, 2007, 04:43 PM Wow nice purchaces! I love Shin-Yi Prince! I don't have a Gloria Naugle, but roth likes to have a cool spell to induce flowering, and micranthum also can take a winter rest so I am guessing maybe if you give it 15 degree temp drops in the winter at night then it might have a better chance of flowering. I'd keep it warm the rest of the year.
