Last week, I was watching a show about plants and animals of Borneo on DSC-HD and I kept hoping they would show some Paphs and sure enough they did! They showed a Paph roth in bloom growing in the wild and all in HD glory. I almost fell out of the couch! That Paph roth looked so amazing and the detail was so incredible that I felt like it was right in front of me and I wanted to reach in and grab it!:D They showed other orchids as well like a Phal bellina and other species as well. Did anyone else watch the show?

Something to add to the DVR list. Do you remember the name so I can search and record?

Sorry I don't remember the name as I was channel surfing but I think the name of the show was The Equator- The Lives of Plants and Animals in Southeast Asia or something like that. I just did a seach on Discovery Channel HD Theater website but nothing came up.

Awesome! I wish I had seen it.
The show was very interesting, they even showed the only bird species that does the Michael Jackson's moonwalk dance and it was hilarious! Another plant they showed was the largest flower on any plant that stinks like dead rotting meat to attract flies and that I thought was fascinating. Another fascinting one was a Praying Mantis that somehow evolved into looking like just an orchid flower to attract innocent little bugs to devour. You should watch it but you do need an HDTV and a subscription to DSC HD Theater. I hope they show it again!

I watched another episode of Equator last night on DISC HD Theater, the plants and animals of Ecuador. I expected them to show lots of orchids but NADA, not a single orchid, not even a Phrag besseae!
