Paphraguy May 5th, 2009, 02:41 PM Beautiful! I should plant some in my garden! I have never tried Tulips before and now I'm tempted to try a couple or so.

Usually if you were to get bulbs you should plant them in the fall. Also, some places sell them in the spring as sprouted plants.
Paphraguy May 5th, 2009, 09:32 PM I'll pay a little visit to my local nursery and see if they still have any Tulip plants left. If they don't have any left, I'll try bulbs in the fall. Plant them in full sun? Thanks Nick!

Full to part sun works great for them.
Paphraguy May 5th, 2009, 09:42 PM Thanks! I'll check with my local nursery this weekend if I can find a nice spot to grow Tulips. My Hostas, Day Lilies, Ferns and Bleeding Hearts are now finally poking out of the ground.
Tom S May 6th, 2009, 04:00 PM Beautiful tulips!
Thanks for sharing!
Paphraguy May 6th, 2009, 06:30 PM My local nursery was out of Tulips so I drove to the nearest Home Depot which is about 30 miles from where I live and picked up 4 Tulip plants. Some wilted when I got home, I guess from the stress. Hope they live!

I have a bunch of flower pics I have to post... I will get them up in a bit. I also planted a few more things in the yard over the weekend.

Didn't see this one..LOL. Those plants look pretty good. Just water them well for now and fertilize them. The foliage dies back 6-8 weeks after blooming.
Justin May 6th, 2009, 09:37 PM Peter, those will be nice but if you plant some rested, strong bulbs this fall, you'll get some really nice ones next year.
i love tulips but i am not a tulip pro. we grow them but i have a lot to learn. I'd like to plant a full-scale garden but we don't have an outdoor hose at our house. without water, we can't do a whole lot outside.
my all-time favorite is bearded iris. i have a really nice clump that has grown very well that has a bunch of spikes right now. there are some growers here who have an absolutely jawdropping collection of different bearded irises. almost time to go check them out!
skipper May 6th, 2009, 09:43 PM Nice plants Peter.
Paphi May 7th, 2009, 09:55 AM so nice pretty:Party:
