This is an untagged paph. Don't worry, I'll send pics for identification once it opens. Should be really soon!

Adam November 30th, 2006, 06:01 PM Glad to be here. For all of you guests out there who are skeptical about joining, it's free and you have access to way more pics and threads. This is a great forum to get in to. In regards to your questions, all together I have 17 orchids.
BLCs:
Hawaiian Treat
Doris Louise Capen "Lea"
Cattleya Desert Sands
5 Misc. Phals given to me as presents from aunt's and my mother in law (none to brag about, just department store specials...)
and the slippers...
Paphs:
sanderianum (x sib)
Jack Tonkin
Geoffrey Hands
(Oberhausen's Diament x Kolosand)
Quasar
one tagless strap-leaved multifloral
Phrags:
China Dragon
Sorcerer's Apprentice
(warscewiczianum x walisii)
Most of the plants I have came from Marilyn LeDoux. Luckily I live less than an hour from her. My last trip accounts for most of my paphs. I am still a budding grower. Right now most of my orchid funds are going into building a grow room, which leaves little room for new plants. Anyways... being in college full time and working full time really cuts down on your orchid time, so right now I have the perfect ammount of plants that I can sustain. And about college... I was wondering if anyone would know what kind of career opprotunities there are in the orchid world.
Paphraguy November 30th, 2006, 06:57 PM You have good taste and nice plants! I can tell you're a multifloral fan.
Justin November 30th, 2006, 07:09 PM Hey Adam,
Many of the people here are "master" indoor growers so please don't hesitate to ask advice or share thoughts on your new grow room! It would be great to see your new set-up when it is done.
J.

phragfan November 30th, 2006, 09:37 PM Welcome, Adam. It looks like you are a good grower.

Nice China Dragon!

Actually the Untagged one looks quite interesting (the white surrounding magenta)
Nynaeve December 1st, 2006, 12:33 AM Adam, looks like there may be some cochleo in that tagless one...I just like to guess because it's fun!
You might want to pick the brains of our sponsors about orchid related jobs. ;) Tom and Jason are really personable.
I am so jealous that you live near Windy Hill! She has GREAT plants! I've been making check marks next to plants that I want from her catalog and leaving it in conspicuous places around the house hoping that Hubby will catch a hint for Christmas. He hasn't thrown it away yet, so that's a good sign!

Marilyn has many more plants than she lists in her catalogs. They are just in limited supply. If you are looking for something in particular you should try to email her.

Marilyn does have very nice plants and they are always so well grown and healthy plants. She does have many larger plants not listed on her site, so email her if you need to know.
dodobaby December 1st, 2006, 08:44 AM Welome to this great forum and I wish good luck with paphs and the other orhids!

Teresa, make sure your husband is not confused from many clues.
One christmas of so many years ago, I got a package of batteries while my brother & sisters all got toys  (Turns out,I had asked my father for battery sometimes during the year for another old toy) The experience brought tears to my eyes, and they were not tears for joy....:p :p

LOL! I am laughing so hard at your comment this morning! I have to tell a little story, sorry it is :offtopic: but a good example of the communication problems we have with Daddy (my husband's father). I have tons of these stories. Let me say up front that Daddy speaks English, but not completely well and heavily accented. This has *never* stopped him from talking though, he loves to talk to just about anyone, So today here is the conversation that happened with Daddy and Hubby:
Hubby: Daddy, we are going to have lunch this Saturday.
Daddy: Huh? Oh, the sink in your bathroom?
Hubby: No, Daddy...LUNCH...SATURDAY...
Daddy: Ohhhh, (laughter)
Where he got "sink" out of that we will never know...
paphman910 December 1st, 2006, 02:36 PM Welcome to SOF Adam. I like your Paph sanderianum seedling. Keep it on the warm side!!! Don't hesitate to ask any questions as there are alot of indoor growers willing to share their experience.
Paphman910
