This was mine in bloom last year. It is also called the Octopus orchid because the flowers resemble octopuses/octopi.

Oh, Peter, yes, this is why I have your div....such a sweet little bloom. I remember back then, at the time I first saw this photo, I thought the blooms were so much larger! I laughed out loud when I saw in person for the first time.

I hope the next time mine blooms it has more and they are fragrant also. Very cute species!!

I love how these look.
I am a bit confused. Is the plant big or small? Or big plant, small blooms?

Flowers are small but plants can get big at maturity with many growths. This species is also native to South Florida.

Hi Pete!

Thanks for posting your photo. My new plant is a pretty good size. Don't see any spikes, yet but I think it might be soon. I really like the blooms! Quite unusual! I guess the alba version is less common, but I REALLY like the regular color on these.
