I just love all the brachys ! thanks for the picture. What is this one growing in ? (I mean this "container", is it tree fern or something, covered with moss?)

What potting mix do you use for your brachys ? the ones I've seen in Thailand are usually potted in a mix of gravel, clay pebbels and sometimes various things such as rice or peanuts husk... so just wondering how you grow yours....

It think the container is made from pumice stone, carved into a pot shape.
And I think thats the reason he put it in a saucer with water on it because pumice would be too porous to hold moisture for very long.

Let me try answering for him. He is my colleague who is the owner of the S.Gratrix and the exul x bellatum that I posted a few weeks ago..

The pot is made of a kind of very porous stone but I don't know if it call Pumice or not. It is quite soft (more like an intermediate between soid and stone ) so it is not yet really very strong like stone but half way. The Stone is very airy and hold a lot of calcium.

Inside the pot, he use the smaller piece of this stone as the potting mix. and only on the surface, he add some peatmoss mix with smaller size stone just to cover the top part..

Put the pot on the tray also help serving as the concept of semi-hydro that I read from other side. The plant will get constant moisure and grow constantly..

For brachy, it doesn't need to have moisure all the time but they can adapt with it and growing quite well..

hope it helps.. :D

I actually thought it was tree fern at first sight but I agree with you upon looking again. Great pot anyway, I wish I could find similar stuff !!

edit : oups, posted as the same time Picsri was answering !!
