Anyone going to the annual Slipper Symposium in Kissimmee. on the 4th of Nov? I have gone for many years and have always learned a lot, had a great time with renowned growers and always come back with way to many plants. I can think of worse ways to spend my time.

I wish I was going! Have a great time and if you can, please take photos for us unfortunate ones who can't go. :D

I'll see you there Rob... I've gone for the past 2 years with this being my third... I'm bad with names so we've probably met already huh? Looking forward to this event again.

Hi Jason,
We met last year. I 'm about your age and have a small retail orchid and tropicals store in Western Ma. We had some beers with Olaf and Glenn Lehr after the Barbeque back at the hotel. I look forward to seeing you again. It's too bad Paul and Mary Phillips will not be there. Are you staying at the conference hotel again?

I've booked the flight and hotel at least a month ago. I'll be there. Just look for the tattooed long haired red head (MALE!). This will be my first time there.

Does anyone know if there are other sellers at this event other then the speakers? Was also wondering how small or large event this actually is?

Thanks

Hey Rob and Bob,

Rob,

yes now I remember you! Yes I will be staying at the same hotel. I'm excited for the open house at Krull-Smith orchids on Sunday. I've never been there.

Bob,

This event is a nice small paph/phrag crowd usually with about 4 or 5 vendors. The speakers are interesting and it's a good chance to get together and chat with other growers. I try to make it out to paph/phrag meetings as often as I can to support the paph/phrag market.

Looking forward to seeing you guys there!

I wish I was going, but Julie and I couldn't schedule a trip that weekend because she has to work.:( It's the opening of the deer hunting season and many of Julie's coworkers are going out into the woods to shoot Bambi.

Hi Bob,
Usually the speakers all are vendors, Woodstream and Orchid inn though I dont think Eric ever sells plants. As well June Hill sells nice crosses there, Frank Smith will probably be selling plants and flasks,Doris and Bill Dukes have sold most years and the Fla. slipper study group also has had plants for sale. Jason brought plants last year and he could let you know if he is planning to sell again this year.Harold Koopowitz has been there most of the years that i have been there and even though he does not sell his insight is always a plus . All in all it is a great day of talking paphs and phrags and I always come home with many plants. Frank's private green house is nothing short of remarkable as you will see that his stock is some of the best. I look forward to seeing all of you there.
