Hi folks,

Another software upgrade was just released which fixed some more security holes that they found and new features added, so please save any important PMs you may have in your mailbox and the forum may go offline sometime this weekend for the upgrade. I don't like upgrading since it is so very time consuming and I find it extremely stressfull but it has to be done or our forum may get hacked and actually hackers have recently tried hacking the forum but thankfully they were unsuccessful.

Thanks, you guys are great!:D

Best wishes,

Nynaeve

Thanks, Steph! Isn't that always a chore and it is always so stressful and I'm scared to death the forum may get messed up every time I upgrade. The latest one is now 3.6.1. Good luck!:D

Lol !! My last update (to 3.60) missed being a disaster, because we have a little shoutbox on forumhome template, and it's designed for VB 3.5. After the upgrade, forumhome broke down, and it was impossible to uninstall that mod because it had become important for members...
Fortunately, it was a tiny bug, easy to repair, but for a while, I was secreting a lot of adrenalin...

I know the feeling. Everytime I upgrade, my heart races, I sweat and tremble with fear:Grin:. My last upgrade to 3.6.0 also broke the forum and I had to revert to 3.5.4 but I found out what the problem was and a week later it was easy upgrading back to 3.6.0 and now I have to go thru it all over again! But I'm glad they have fixed a few security holes, there were 5 or 6 attempts made by hackers to break in but they failed and went elsewhere.

I thought about adding a Shoutbox a few months ago but then I'm on a shared host and they are always complaining that my forum is always too busy and that slows down and crashes their servers and they recently raised the monthly rate:mad: , so I had to scratch the Shoutbox idea. Oh well, can't have everything!

I hope that mine will not have got this "great" idea
Up to now, it's a fixed-price hosting... but I've never exceeded 17 Gbytes / month

Hi folks,

The forum software is now fully up to date. Everything went smoothly but I still need to test and make sure everything is working fine which will take quite a while, so thank you all for the patience and support!

Have a great day! :D
