these are pics of his pics but he grew such amazing plants. all of the plants posted he got by sending 25 dollars american to china and a month later he got tons of plants that were bare root.

wow i didnt realize how old they were the plant tag says 12/ 1990
i wish we still could send 25 dollars to china and get these plants

and look! Paph armeniacum that are actually the color of their namesake, rather than bright yellow.
It's probably the age of the photo or my monitor.
I didn't think they actually came in apricot for real.

I am afraid only part of his plants came from China. I was growing paphs by the time you uncle got these plants. Apparently some of his plants like parishii, urbanianum and complex hybrids are definitely not China native. Paphs others than China native are very rare at the time and I don't think one can get these plants from China.. no need to say USD25 ...
What can be sent could be armeniacum maliponense and micranthum only ...

Picsri, that is species parishii. dianthum has petals of lighter colour and are more widespread as well. Flower count seldom exceed the number of 4.
