Hi Daniel

There are at least 2 SOF members in australia who got them:
Stephan in Brisbane
Bench72 at Sydney
maybe they can share 1 or 2 plants with you (if they get a lot of flasks)
or you can ask them if they have any information about the kovachii supplier next trip to Australia.

good luck:p

Hey Daniel

I bought a 5 plant 105 dollar flask of kovachii X dellasandroi at the Port Maquarie show with the promise that the two other flasks I had pre-ordered would be delivered by hand later (due to AQIS "holding" the plants over due to later unfounded fears of contamination).

The plants I have are nowhere near ready to deflask but I am noting reasonable growth progress and am hopeful for a November/December deflask.

I can't promise anything - I know I didn't sign anything but I'm under the impression we're not allowed to "sell" them until 2007. Western Laboratries will have some available for sale over the web at that time.

Sorry to be so vague Daniel but deflasking orchids and then counting your plants is almost as succesful as counting chickens before they're hatched mate.

Cheers

That is interesting that you & others in Australia were not required to sign any form promise not to sell or donate the seedlings to other peoples before march 2007.
I guess Manolo realizes that it is only 1/2 a year left from now to that date anyway, so he does not bother to ask for it any more?
You right about counting the chicken (I feel exactly the same way)
So far this pk" Tupac Amaru" x dalessandroi is still the fastest in growth & the least showing of browing & dying from higher temperature (other than the wallisii x pk)
Most of the species pk crosses barely growth at all. The weaker seedlings had perished from the recent heatwave in New Jersey (each flask has about half the number left, the surviving ones basically stop growing) I assume that if they hang on thru september, they will have better chance with the cold months ahead to resume growing.
Your timing of the purchasing is perfect, by the time summer comes over there, your plants would have been out of flask ,& would be able to handle a little more heat too.

I certainly hope so Hien. I ordered both the dellasandroi and wallisii crosses in the hope that hybrid "vigour" would mean the kovachii hybrids would more easily survive our sometimes very hot summers. One wet and one dryer :) I also ordered one of the kovachii because I'm a terror for punishment.

Still remains to be seen that I receive the other two flasks though.

Cheers
