Here are pics of my Phrag lindenii in bloom last year. It is the only natural peloric slipper orchid, instead of the pouch, it has a third long petal.

I love the second photo, particularly. You must have enjoyed watching the blooms unfurl. Thanks for posting!

Thanks avery and Heather! Avery why are Paphs more commonly grown in Asia? It seems like most asian growers prefer Paphs to Phrags. Just curious.

Of course we grow more paph than phrag ! Paphs are native to Asia and Phrag are from South America. Definitely we can approach paph more easier than phrag. Another reason is that phragm like cooler weather while we are having hot summer ... most of the phrag cannot grow well during the summer except for those grow them inside airconditioned offices ... Furthermore, phrag takes up more space while it grow into multiple growths plants. For most of the people who are having limited growing space , a stud phrag could be a nightmare ... They would prefer brachy and parvi paph more ... That's why ....

That is what I had thought since Paphs are native to Asia. Here in the US, they are not native but both are just as popular among Paph and Phrag affecionados. Do you grow any of your native Cyps? We also have native Cyps here in the US but I don't grow any, I prefer the Paphs and the Phrags.

Pete, what is that, two growths? I think mine is maybe thinking about doing something soon. I'm keeping a close eye on it! :)
