This is another of these hybrids. There is such diversity among each of these plants, this could be up there as one of my favorites of the batch.

Georgous!! :clap::clap:

Is there a fairreanum cross somewhere in the parents? The leaves really look it and I know that there have been some maudae x fairreanum crosses recently.

Best,
Susan

The hybrid parents are supersuk x raisin pie. If someone can look up the history of these. Raisin pie is Sukhakulli x Clarissa (whatever that is) and Supersuk is sukhakulli x william mathews(whatever that is)...So you have a double Sukhakulli and a mish mash. Easy grower, fast actually and blooms quickly

All I'm turning up are hybrids.

(God, what did we do before Google???) Off to do more searching....
Not seeing anything as a primary hybrid listed either.....

OOPS!:embarass:

I meant to say petals; not the leaf. The petals have a very similar look to what Paph fairreanum has. The fairreanums have been compared to Cowboys tipping their hats and to Pippi Longstocking with her flippy braids. In a pure fairreanum, the petals would not arch backwards as much as your plant is doing. But the basic fairreanum petal shape is there; as well as some features of the pouch and the dorsal.

I'm interested as I bought some (8) plants from a Paph grower who was going out of business on ebay. (There was a post about this sale here on this forum, for that matter.) Well, it was like buying a "grab bag" with unknown contents. The plants arrived safe & healthy and about three of them were a cross between the vinis and fairreanum. I checked out the internet to see what these would look like, and the plant you have suggests that there may be some fairreanum in the breeding of this plant.

Fairreanum is just drop-dead georgous and I think that your plant has it in the grex...somehow..somewhere.

I am only learning...For what it's worth, I hope the plants I bought will look like yours.

Susan
