nice. I have ordered plumeria seeds several times before, I could just never get them to sprout... :(

Dear friend

the soil was too much wet? Did you cover the pot with plastic foil to increase the humidity? Did you soak the seeds in water for too much time?

Plumerias seeds and seedlings need a lot of light and air movement: wet conditions kill the seeds before sprouting.

By the way, remember that Plumeria grown in mild climate need a lot of time before blooming (sometimes 10/13 years): to much time :D.

A single tip cutting has the some cost of a packet of seeds: in few years you will have your own blooming Plumerias!

Ya, I know: I have a lot of Plumerias with variegated leaves (spotted, striped, blotched...).

They are awesome! Mine are just getting leaves so if they flower in the next few months I will post some photos. I have 3 seedlings that have never flowered......lost the name tags too but the colour potential from memory is really good

Thanks for sharing.

Love the plant in the third photo. I grow these as well but so far I have only had white ones flower but I think this may be the year of the Plumeria at my house!!!

How big do seedlings have to be to flower?

Dear friend

seedlings? They flower at 4/5 years old but, if you live in temperate climate, they usually flower at 7/10 years old, or more.

Consider that the seedling rarely come true the variety of mother plant: if you sow 100 seeds of Plumeria rubra acutifolia, you'll obtain 97% of seedling similar to the mother plant but if you sow 100 seeds of Plumeria "Wah Gor" (a selected variety with dark purple flowers) you'll obtain more or less 97% offspring of common white or white/yellow or rainbow or pink flowers: the rest of this percentage could be interesting, sometimes much more pretty than the mother plant. That's why Plumerias and Adeniums of high quality are propagated via cuttings.

Plants propagated via mature cutting could flower the same year to 2/4 years later.

Bye bye

Hi

a new entry: Plumeria obtusa var. "Dwarf Singapore Pink": very compact groths (everybody could grow this kind of Pulmerias on a windowsill!).

Flowers are fragrant and the leafs are very shining.
