I've had several of my phrags develop this problem where the new growths grow in with browing leaves. The brown part starts out small and eventually spreads across the leaf on each leaf on the new growth.

For those of you who don't know, I'm a S/H grower, grow under lights, have good air movement (fans going almost constantly), and use RO water with carbon filters and with Mich. St. fertilizer. Now my Phrag. Magdalene Rose appears to be getting this problem so I would appreciate any help.

I would suspect too much fertilizer and or overwatering. Some of my besseaes have done excactly that, I watered them less often and the problem went away. I also grow indoors under lights.

I agree with Peter! Something to do with the water or fertilizer!

Ditto, try watering with only pure water for a while and see what happens.

I'm trying the pure water (RO water) approach for a couple of months and will let everyone know how that works. Thanks for the advice!

I agree with my friends can be too much fertilizer ou maybe cool, yes temperature below 10° Celsius sometimes happen. Overwater is not probabily cause the roots has alcalóides and this substance doesn't has problem with too much water. It is possible too the water is cold !!! Ok I hope have to help you !!!! byebye
