Looks very tiny and the clusters of flowers are really pretty!

This was perhaps the first or second orchid I ever bought. It must have been easy to grow, because it lived for 15 years or so. Then I killed it by doing something stupid (trying to 'optimize' its growing conditions). I grew it mounted. Watered it every 4 or 5 days (or sometimes even once a week).

I highly recommend them. Just don't baby them too much...

how small is the plant?

Mine was never any wider than an inch. And was mounted on a cedar shake about 2" x 3", for the entire time I had it. They have a vandaceous growth habit (unsurprising, as they are vandaceous...), similar to a wee little ascocentrum. Sometimes forming little clumps of growths, like Ascocentrum miniatum.

For scale, I'd wager in Picsri's picture that that yellow and black tie you see on the mount is a standard plastic coated twist tie. Like the kind you see strapping toys into boxes (as the parent of a two year old, I have seen far far too many of those damn ties...).

There are a couple of species of schoenorchis that I have seen at shows. Fragrans is one, and by far the most common. I have also seen S. gemmatum, which was very cute. Evidently there are at least 10 species, but I've only ever seen those two.

I never noticed that yellow tie, I was only looking at the plant, I need to be more observant.

the size is very small indeed. the width of the plant is approx 1-1.2 inches and just a bit taller than an inch as well.
