You could ask a friend, a family member or even a trusted neighbor to water your plants while you're gone for 2 weeks.

Dan, when I went away, I had my mother and my friend tag team the watering for me. Lu came on Sundays and my mom did the heavy drinkers again on Thursdays. I marked all the heavy drinkers with blue dragonfly plant clips and also marked the ones that were most precious and irreplaceable to me with red dot stickers. That way, in case of a serious emergency, they would know which ones to save. I had a couple of emergency contacts, a local woman I know who grows, and Pete. Also, my neighbor had my mom and Lu's phone numbers so she could notify them of any emergencies (I am in a condo and so if the power went out, she'd know about it.)

I am happy to say, I was gone the entire month of February and came home to only the death of my sundew. All the plants were fine, except a few that had some minor sunburn. Whew. It was a really nervewracking experience though!

I also typed up a Orchid Care 101 document that I distributed to each of the people helping out with all phone numbers and care listed.

I have a friend and member of my local OS water for me when I am away. I return the favor when she is away.

I never go on vacation for that long :cry:

Automatic watering system! I can go on 3 month long vacations without water worries, if need arises.
