Sorry for the poor quality of the photo. Apparently not a good day for photography. I was so thrilled to see that the Cyp kentuckiense I got from Hillside last fall had two growths and then I was nearly knocked off my feet when they both developed buds. I was prepared to wait a couple years for flowers. Now they're blooming! A special thanks to Ron for his tip about the vendor and the helpful growing advice. I look forward to the plant getting bigger and more floriferous in the coming years!

Looking good Mark! I think you'll find this one to be quite easy to grow, and a fast clumper. It is nice to be surprised sometimes, isn't it!

Do you really grow this outside in Wisconsin? Any special care? I love it.

Impressive Shady! Well done! Must be that cold harsh winter! :)

Yeah, Grandma, it's just sitting out there by the patio. Heck, I thought I was becoming a skilled grower but Tom says it's an easy one so I won't get a big head ;) We'll see how it does over time. Are you thinking of trying this one? I owe the success (so far) to getting a really healthy plant to start with and to putting LOTS of sand in the planting hole. I also kept it covered with a broken terra cotta pot and oak leaves all winter. I may need to move it before too long to where it has more room. Right now I've got 7 Cyps kind of in a row and if they all get as big as my pubescens I'll be in trouble. But what a great kind of trouble to be in!
