I was away for a couple days and when I got home I noticed some cobweb type stuff at the base(and on some of the neighboring hydroton) of my Phrag Uranus. I'm assuming it's something fungal. Anyone know if this is something to worry about? If so, how should I proceed? Nail it with some Physan? Thank you for any suggestions.

I had that on some of my plants and got rid of it with physan relatively quick.

Phaysan should take care of it. It's some kind of mildewy moldy stuff. I've had it on a few phrags. Physan got rid of it, but it would come back every now and then. Once I increased air movement I never saw it again. :D

Usually, when I notice something like that, I just rinse it off, and take it as a sign to increase air movement. Once I increase the air movement, it usually stays away.

It could also be a sign that when you moved the plant out of the old media, some speck of something remained to cause the problem. In which case I have been told that you can also unpot and clean everything off again and repot. Might be worth trying some other remedies first if you're pressed for time.

I've heard hydrogen peroxide can be helpful also.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I decided to check out the roots ala Heather's suggestion. Sure enough, there was some old stray media and some old roots that I didn't trim close enough and they had gone necrotic. I rinsed it really well and got rid of as much dead tissue as I could. I noticed that some of the older roots were sprouting little green/white side roots, so that's good! I'm picking up a clip fan tomorrow!

Not thinking, I just rewatered. Is that a bad thing to do considering I'm trying to prevent a possible fungus/bacteria outbreak?

I repotted mine, most of them, late in the afternoon/early evening during the week it poured 10 days straight. Bad timing huh? I wanted to flush though w/ distilled water because the water I'd soaked the Prime Agra in was tap (higher pH) so I went ahead and watered but what I did was dump out the resevoir so it would dry out faster and up the fans of course. I had no problems. YMMV of course! :)
