Beautiful. I thought wisterias were only available as a creeping vine. I didn't know they were trees as well.

In Reality it is a Vine but they sell them as trees and start training them to a single trunk and shape it like a tree. Then it requires prunning to keep it tree like.I am training it to have an umbrella appearance.I've had this for four seasons now this is the best bloom so far

I love these guys, and also have one of the tree form trained ones. Beware, they become monsters and will ensnare anything that gets in their path.

Here's a photo I took of mine about a month ago but forgot to post.

Oh, I adore wisteria!
I saw some that had "gone wild" and all brambly on the side of the highway last night.

Ray,

It is beautiful! If get a chance to take a picture of the one I started from seed and is now about 15 years old; I will post it. It is planted in my mothers yard in Revere, MA. I have trained it as a tree as well. It is spectacular right now.

Thanks

There is a camp ground that a friend of mine's family owned and on the private part of the complex there are some very old buildings they date way back well over 100 years well a wiesteria vine grew so large it wrapped itself around an old barn type shed pretty big building and it picked it up off of it's foundation and twisted it up in the air like somthing out of a horror movie. I lost touch with them but wonder if it still exsits. It dosen't take long for a vine left to itself to do damage. at a nearby market about five years ago they built an arbor from the parking lot to the store and planted a wiesteria vine on each side of it well it's already being turned and twisted. But They are beautiful
