Thanks again for all your information on this plant.
Paphraguy May 1st, 2005, 06:17 PM Excellent! Good job and I can't wait to see the flower! This is one species I really like but still don't have one yet.
Paphgirl May 1st, 2005, 06:18 PM Congratulations, Eric! Nice purchase, one I don't have yet. I look forward to seeing your's bloom! Best of luck!
Park Bear May 2nd, 2005, 09:13 AM :Shh: we are hunting paphs in bloom
Littlefrog May 2nd, 2005, 10:20 AM Was this sold to you as an alba or pale version? I don't see any color in the bud, that is why I ask. Perhaps it is just to new to have any color. Anyway, good job on getting it to spike. Now you won't be able to keep it out of bloom.
wolfcreekmn May 2nd, 2005, 07:43 PM When I got it they said it was the normal color. All the tag has on it is Paph. sukhakulii x sib so I guess we will have to wait and see.
Paphgirl May 2nd, 2005, 08:16 PM Good luck!! (Will you be happy either way? Can you email the vendor about it? Maybe worth a question?)
wolfcreekmn May 2nd, 2005, 09:00 PM Hi Heather I got this from Orchids Limited last year . I guess the alba form is rare. I hope it has color but I will take either one.
Shady Character May 2nd, 2005, 10:39 PM Oh, yes. This is a fine species. Easily one of my faves. I don't think I've ever seen an alba but the normal one is just fine by me. Show us what it looks like when it's open!
Hmmm...just looked in my notes to see how long before it should be open and sonofagun if I don't have an alba! (or aureum? May have been sold a bum steer) in my collection. Obviously it hasn't bloomed yet. My other, normal one takes about four months from the time I spot the bud, apparently.
Bozo May 2nd, 2005, 11:25 PM you're not going to see mahogany in that bud at that stage of development and at that angle. the petals are tucked deep within, all you see is the dorsal, which usually has minimal to no brown anyway. note the brown color of the stem. it will be a regular colored form, which to me is superior to the alba in shape, size, and vigor.
Littlefrog May 3rd, 2005, 09:53 AM Hi Heather I got this from Orchids Limited last year . I guess the alba form is rare. I hope it has color but I will take either one.
On the very off chance that it does bloom out alba, I'll gladly trade you a nice colored one for it. *grin* I got dibs!
wolfcreekmn May 16th, 2005, 08:00 PM Hello every one hear is a update . I took the picture 5-15-05 I can see dark spot on the petals now.

couscous74 May 28th, 2005, 10:03 AM I've never been a big fan of spotted petals, but yours look really good. I may have to reconsider.
RickL May 28th, 2005, 11:17 AM That's some of the thickest spotting I've ever seen on a suk. You might want to show that one. And keep track of it for breeding purposes.
Very nice
wolfcreekmn May 28th, 2005, 08:30 PM Thanks every one, I'm glad you liked the picture.
dustyatticstuff May 28th, 2005, 09:25 PM Love this species and this beautifully grown plant!

paphreek May 29th, 2005, 10:06 AM Looks like you've got a winner, Eric! If you can, give us one more picture once the petals are fully extended.
