Great photo! I think it looks prettier than delenatii. Thanks for posting! Steph March 4th, 2005, 04:11 PM It's a rare pleasure for me too (a capricious species, but only in flowering, not in cultivation) !!! I love this species and really want to share !!! Paphgirl March 4th, 2005, 04:15 PM Welcome and WONDERFUL photo and bloom! I have one from Antec too, (just one plant not one compot) but it is teeny tiny and won't bloom for a while. How big is your plant? I'm hoping for nice dark color also. (So Peter, are you wishing I'd picked one up for you now? :cheeky: You'd have room for it too, they aren't such large plants.) :) Steph March 4th, 2005, 04:24 PM a friend of mine said this species was "a plane" in cultivation ! (it means "very quick grower", here). Paphgirl March 4th, 2005, 04:27 PM LOL, glad you explained, I don't think I'd have known if you hadn't! So, how long have you had it? Sorry, I'm being so nosy! Mine has a new leaf. :D Love the deep color and bright yellow staminoid. Sigh... Steph March 4th, 2005, 04:36 PM I've it since only 2003 ! It was just a little seedling ... Paphgirl March 4th, 2005, 04:46 PM Excellent to hear! I hope mine grows as quickly, as it is only a very very very wee seedling! LOL!! (Pete? :cheeky:) Anonymous March 4th, 2005, 06:21 PM That's the 1st one I've seen bloomed from an Antec flask. Way cool! Mine are still teeny and in compots...I'm looking at a good 2 yrs before I see them get that big. Paphraguy March 4th, 2005, 06:50 PM Excellent to hear! I hope mine grows as quickly, as it is only a very very very wee seedling! LOL!! (Pete? :cheeky:) Yeah, rub it in! :cheeky: Now I do wish you had picked one up for me. avery March 5th, 2005, 05:34 AM Hello All ! This is the first time I have been here ! Thanks for Peter's recommendation to join this forum. Hope there are more and more hot discussion here in the near future ! Yes, vietnamense are growing pretty fast and can bloom within 2 year from flasks seedlings here ! I have 1/3 of my Germany origin seedlings sending out their sheath. Hope to see their flowers very soon ! SteveT March 5th, 2005, 08:33 AM Good to see that you came here Avery! For those who don't know, Avery has some very nice plants, and excellent pictures. avery March 5th, 2005, 09:13 AM Good to see that you came here Avery! For those who don't know, Avery has some very nice plants, and excellent pictures. Hello Steve ! Nice to meet you, too ! For pictures ... they are no longer attractive as my background cloth shed colour ... I am now using my greenhouse plants as background only ... I think I have to buy a new one , may be 2 ... one black and one deep blue ... before I can take some nice photos again ... By the way, I bought myself an Olympus C5060 a few months ago but I found that my old Canon is still the best photo taker except for the Macro ... Hope I can get used to the new one soon ... SteveT March 5th, 2005, 11:00 AM I recently got a Sony W1 with Zeiss lens, and it is just amazing. I like that I can customize my exposure, film speed, focus groups, etc. It is a 5.1Mp, with a 3x optical and a (5x?) digital, but it works like a champ, especially the macro mode. |
