anyone have any guess as to what this is? i found it crawling across the pouch on a Paph. the lines are millimeters. it walks with an inch worm type motion. this is the second one i've found. should i leave it be or feed it to the fish?
sorry i couldn't get a better photo....

That thing looks like it loves a nice green paph salad. I say, feed it to the fish!

I've found those in the mix on one of my phrags, but they seem to leave the roots alone. How do we kill them? Are phrags sensitive to malathion?

I don't think phrags are too sensitive to malathion, but as with anything, use with care. A little bit at first and see how that goes. I treat my plants with insecticidal soap--not the most effective, but works OK, and it doesn't seem to cause the plants or my cat any harm. I've dabbed a couple of phrags with alcohol, but I try to avoid it as my caudatum doesn't seem to like it; its leaves some time will turn a little yellowish, pale yellow, and stays like that. If you have a big infestation, unpot your plant and put it in new mix right away.

To the fish -- very similar to something that chewed chunks out of my Den. spectabile 2 years ago before I noticed it.
