Howdy, my acuale has budded and flowered faster than any orchid I have seen! It is growing in a 8 inch plastic pot with a load of pine duff. I can not take any credit for it, but next year I will. (I hope)

The first time I showed this species to a friend while hiking he said, "hey that's the pink testicle plant!" Hmm...

Tadd, I guess that southern climate insures early flowers. I wish you the best with it. Don't spare the vinegar!

Very nice! Now that you have flowered the most difficult species, you need the other 44 species!

The seasons certainly are earlier in more southerly areas. Around here, acaule are still asleep for the next couple of weeks. They usually bloom the 3rd week in May.

That's so great! What are you hoping for first, boy, girl, or twins one of each? :poke: I used to think it would be nice to have a boy first, then make him a younger sister (like any of this can be controlled). But today when I caught one of my 9th grade boys mooning two of his friends through a solid glass practice room door I decided I might just want all girls...

Actually hubby and I have a plan to start trying this Summer so we can try and *time* it with the end of the school year. I'm like PLAN? Who needs a plan? *tick tock tick tock* ;)

I really dont care either way. I think girls are bit more expensive in the long run :poke: I would feel more comfortable with boys going out on their first dates than girls... I just want a healthy baby. We weren't actively trying, just not - not trying... No pressures etc...

Good plan to be out right around April to May! :)

Wow Tadd way to go guy. I hope you have a nice spot picked out for it in your yard. I'm sure you'll be able to rebloom it next year.
