Thought I keep track of one of my pubescens development. Enjoy, more to come...they both have buds inside them.

great progress Jon, are these at your house or close to your house?

This is a small plant that has been in a hosta garden next to my front porch for a few years now. This will be its first time blooming as it has been seedling size with one growth for years now. I am pretty sure there are buds inside after very lightly pinching the middle and feeling a nob inside of both. I haven't checked on the others since they are a bit of a walk...but when it stops raining I will get some pics of them as well. Thanks for watching.

I hope to get out this weekend and look around in some wooded areas, maybe at John Bryan or Caesars Creek.

I've yet to find any species of orchids at Caesar's Creek...but have found many non-slipper genera at Cowan Lake near the dam. Let me know if you find anything. Happy hunting.

Well they're finally open...only took six years. I couldn't believe it took this long but that's what my records show. It was only a three inch tall seedling with three one inch leaves on it when I planted it on a whim. Never expected it to sprout up the next year...but it had gotten a little larger every year. Hopefully in another two or three years it will grow full size as it is still under a foot tall. It's parents were easily twice it's size in both plant and flower.
I hope you've all enjoyed watching it grow...sorry for the gaps.

An excellent plant! Now it will begin to add new stems each year...
