And the best thing about them is the successive flowering that will keep you happy for many months.

Beautiful! And yes when they bloom, they stay in bloom for months and months.

Years if you can get new growths coming in before the old ones done. I've had overlapping spiking on my moquetianum for 3 years now.

My longifolium has been in bloom for close to 3 years and still in bloom with a new spike! My Paph victoria regina (closely related to liemianum) has been in bloom for months and still in bloom and showing more buds. So, some species can stay in bloom nonstop!

You know, since we've been watching the Nature series "Deep Jungle" and I'm also starting to read The Origin of Species, it comes to mind this is a pretty good way to keep the pollination possibility going non-stop. Pretty good survival mechanism, if you ask me.

Haha, Laura, I just posted a thread about it, check here for your local listings. Knowing PBS, they'll be replaying this for the next couple weeks on their stations. http://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/deepjungle/

I'm actually just starting to watch episode 2 now, but heard from Paphraguy that last night's episode was well worth it!
