check inside the leaf axis (right word?) for mealybugs, especially long-tailed mealies, though, upon second viewing, it just be sunburn. can you get a close-up?

IF I had to guess (and as Brian indicated, insects are ruled out), I would venture bleaching from the sun first. My Sander's Pride did something similar recently and it was clearly from a recent move on my part.
