Can anyone please tell me what a Phaleus is?

A member of our orchid club is brining some flasks of orchids from her trip to Thailand and this is one she put down in her email so I don't know if it is right spelling or not. I just would like to know if these are just regular Phals or what.

I think it maybe Phaius Lour.


It is the closely related to Calanthe R. Br.
There are 5 species in Thailand.
Phaius tankervilleae (Banks ex l'Her.) Blume is very common in cultivation. :D

Thank you for the reply. Yes this is the right one. Wow they get huge. Not what I would want but other members might. I think I will stick with the Phals she has.
