View Full Version : Paph. Robinianum
chrismende July 22nd, 2010, 04:55 AM Here is my cultivar of Tom Perlite's two (per Ramon) reciprocal crosses. Mine is parishii x lowii. I'll have to ask Tom the names of the pod and pollen parents. Ramon's awarded plant has a cleaner and rounder dorsal. I simply love this cross!

chrismende July 23rd, 2010, 02:34 AM I'm delighted my taste is getting mirrored here! I really loved this plant while it was in bloom. Can't take credit for the blooms, though, since it was beginning to open and had about half open when I bought it.
Next year, I'll jump up and down if I can coax another wonderful show out of it. It's doing very well now after repotting. I know, though, that it doesn't get the humidity it did at Tom's greenhouse home. I'll have to see what I can do about that. I'm actively looking for greenhouse space to rent right now.
chrismende July 23rd, 2010, 02:35 AM Ramon, that's daylight. It looks very much like yours with artificial light that warms it up.
ehanes7612 July 23rd, 2010, 03:16 AM nice coloring and form but can you take a pic of it with no backlighting?
orchidlover July 23rd, 2010, 08:32 AM How gorgeous! Thank you for sharing with us!
Slipperguy July 24th, 2010, 12:12 AM Wow...fantastic!
chrismende July 25th, 2010, 04:22 AM I think I have some in my archives. I'll look tomorrow. The plant is out of bloom now.
chrismende July 25th, 2010, 04:30 AM Sorry to have stirred up all this enthusiasm for the color with a photo that's backlit, and un-color corrected. I'm going to buy a small x-rite color checker to photograph with my images for the future, since color is such an important issue here. I'll run the photos through that software system before posting them and also be careful to not post ones like this again with backlighting.
Since I'm actually a photographer, I'll now get serious about this.
