Here are a couple of Paphs that have just opened for me. I absolutely love the purpuratum. Just so cute.

Both of these plants are more examples of plants flowering on small growths (see my post in the discussion forum). I bought the purpuratum from a nursery who offered me a flowering size plant for $65 or a small seedling for $27. I thought $65 was outrageous so I bought the small seedling and never expected it to flower for a couple of years. Well 4 months later it is flowering and the plant has not grown that much. Well I saved myself $38. The superbiens put on a new growth and a flower all within the space of 6 months.

They look great to me...I'm stumped as to why they bloom so small for you. I don't believe it to be a bad thing, as I don't see the tell tale signs of stress from your photos. Maybe you have very nutritious water...I'm interested to find out what makes them do it and see if I can't get some of my more finiky ones to bloom by mimicing it.

they look ver nice. What type of lighting did you use for the photo?

I don't use any artificial lighting. Just put a black background behind the plant and shoot. I play around with the camera settings to get the light right.
