Hello everyone,
I thought I would share some photos I took on a recent trip to the Purdon Conservation Area west of Ottawa, Ontario. I was surprised to see that c. reginae seems to do best in the sunnier areas of the fen.

I remember seeing lady's slippers growing in the woods behind my grandmother's house and sadly most have disappeared over the years because of home construction. Your pics brought back good memories.

I've never seen a field with this abundance of Cyp. reginae. Beautiful! The only location I've seen them in here in Michigan, though, the clumps were very dense with up to 18 flowers per clump. The habitat would be described as sphagnum bog with 5 other varieties of ochids growing nearby. Unfortunately, I took the picture before the advent of digital cameras and haven't had them put into a digital format.
