1st Bloom. It could get interesting next time as it now has 4 small growths and a 5th peaking it's head out...

Interesting how the inside (what is that, the labellum?) folds in and overlaps over the staminoid. Is that normal for armeniacum? My sister had a weird paph hybrid that did that.
My armeniacum may not like me much. How do you grow yours? Thanks!

I grow pretty much all of the Paphs in a small CHC, Diatomite, Perlite, Charcoal mix. However, this is in my "old" mix of regular ole fine bark, perlite and charcoal. Hmmm...wondering why I switched...
All Paphs are under Fl. lights in a spare bedroom. I keep a humidifier on 24x7 which barely keeps it at 60% in winter. I keep the heat vent in the room almost closed so it can get down to about 60 at night. It's caused a few Phal buds to go...but the Paphs are much more important! :D Fan on opposite side of room always blowing on them.
I should try to take a pic from the back with a light behind it...the spots inside look way cool when it's lit up. Harold K told us at our last meeting that all Paphs have them so bugs think aphids are on them...interesting...

I have wondered the same, several times! I'm still not convinced I or my plants like the former better than the latter.
