This sucker finally opened and now I have to wait on the second to open. I will post the finished product in a couple days.

Lovely, one of my favorite Paph species! Mine is matured enough to spike for me any day, hopefully soon!

Oooh! I love it!

You know, I don't have one of these yet! Not a teensy plant though....thanks Jon! Can't wait to see the final result. Love the dorsal, I'm into stripes these days.

Nice pot too!

Very Nice, wish I had more space and higher lights for these multis

Wow nice algae growth on that floor! You know you've got humidity down pat if you have that luxurious green growth of algae.

It's half algae, half moss...I used to clean it up but now I don't bother. It grows too quick to fight without chemicals and I don't mind having a living carpet any more as long as it doesn't bother my plants(it's only under the center bench). Just for laughs...and in the name of science of course...I laid a division of my Mediocalcar decorata on it and now the sucker is growing better than the mother plant. I think I'm going to try some Bulbophyllums down there next.

Should now be called glanduliferum ! :D

(uh-oh, here we go....)
But wait! I thought gladuliferum was now whilhelminiae!
(which is what I have...) and whilhelminiae and praestans appear very different.

(come on, you knew someone had to start....) :D

Nope, praestan and wilheliminiae are now the correct names because wilhelminiae is a separate species but glanduliferum is still used to cause more confusion.

After viewing the original descriptions...glanduliferum is an extinct species, or just hasn't been rediscovered. The staminode is very different an it does not have the stripes on the dorsal...it's solid yellow.
As far as gardineri, striatum, wilhelminae, and bodegomii are concerned I don't know. They all seem like varieties of the same plant that is very closely related to praestans.
That's just my two cents worth of amateur taxonomy though...if you're the one writing the tag, it's your choice.
