Paphgirl January 11th, 2006, 07:13 PM Let the games begin! (actually, I'm not surprised by any of this. Glen and I have been discussing it each time I see him which, in the northeast, is fairly frequently.) Want that St. Ouen hybrid already! When it comes to the species, for me, the jury's still out. Time will tell who is the grower to buy from (if not all! ) Rusty January 11th, 2006, 07:34 PM I will be seeing Glen this week end at the paph guild meeting in California this week end. Chun February 22nd, 2006, 06:41 AM Hello, Re Phrag kovachii, I bought a flask last year at Dijon. The seedlings have been replated once and are now in a compot. They are growing easily in a temperate greenhouse, under lights (14 hours a day), with very high humidity (they were in a terrarium during the two first months of deflasking). They love water tremendously, I use rain water only, and feed then every other watering with a 6.6.6. used according to manufacturer's recommandations. The compost must never become even shlightly dry, or the tips of the leaves become dry and brown. I use my usual compost of fine bark, perlite (rice size pellets !) and charcoal, at 5:1:1. I flush every fortnight. Some say kovachii is a cool grower, I have not been able to find any cultural instructions regarding that point, short of its being of "high" origin in Peru. <<<Chun Paphraguy February 25th, 2006, 07:52 AM Hi Paulo and Chun, I moved your kovachii seedling photos to the Phrag Gallery. Thanks for posting! :D |
