I read another piece by someone on at this time of the year using blood and bone meal on your Phrags and then leaching them well with clean water I'm thinking of doing this but would like some of your imput before I do. Thanks Ray

Bonemeal is a slow release fert so i cannot see the point in flushing after using it.
I have used Blood,Fish & Bone , it is a combination of all 3 in a coarse powder.
I have used this on on Paphs & Phrags without any detriment.
Does it make a difference  , very difficult to quantify any improvements
with any fert.
If/when i use "natural ferts" i tend to make a tea out of them.In other words let
the organic fert sit for a week or 2 in rainwater to give the fert a chance to start to break down
& release it,s nutrients.

I used to use blood meal often in the past, with good results as a sole fertiliser. The serious drawback is for the nose during the heat of summer... :( It also kills any sphagnum in the compost (the inorganic fertilisers too).
