Nice and dark.

How does this species compare to calosum for size and culture requirements.

The flower is ~ 3/4 the size of the one from callosum but the culture is the same. This two plants flowering at the same culture requirements in my growing area.

yes the flower is very dark. Between blue and dark purple. Very nice. I like it very much.

This clone is Paph. barbatum ("Plum Pretty" x Floradice AM/AOS)

I like it too. Maybe I'll trade in my callosum for barbatum.

Does yours produce double blooms?

That looks a lot like my maudiae hybrid I've got opening now at the office. Must be in the background somewhere.

Very nice!

I think maudiae were all based off of callosum.?

No, my paph produces only one flower per spike.

Paph Maudiae is lawrenceanum x callosum. But it's true Paph barbatum looks like Maudiae cause all this paph are from the same section.

I also like the rich, dark colors of this paph. I sure hope the flowers last a long time :clap2:

Mine's the old TJ's favorite, Supersuk x Raisin Pie, which actually, Garland posted a photo of the other day, but mine looks more like this (a lot more) than like his.

Beautiful flower and photo!
This is one of those paph sections which makes me glad I didn't go for a career in taxonomy...that and being fluent in latin.

Oh my heavens that is a beautiful paph. I am just placing an order here from one of our growers in Canada. I need to see if they have this one for sure.
