The first flower finally dropped on my Moquetteanum x Psyche cross, you recall me discussing this plant here, the one I don't think is very pretty:

Well, as the flower drops, I notice this little thing falling off as well:

Is this a seed capsule? It was only on the plant for the duration of the flower, perhaps 2 weeks. Does that mean it's not viable? I don't really care, since I don't like the flower - it's the first flower in the link above, the less pretty one. So what's up with this?

I could be wronge but no that is not a seed capsul.

Nope, that's the ovary. It's what would have become a seed capsule had the flower been pollenated.

As Stephen said, if it was viable it would remain on the plant for a few months and remain 'green' and full.
