I have Paph Screaming Eagle and it is inspike with three buds showing right now It's a first bloom for this guy but it really seems small It;s a small plant with three growths. Do you think it will become a large plant over time. I can't show pictures just thought i'd let you know ahead of time Ray

Congrats! :clap2: I love this hybrid. I had 2 but sold one and gave the other away as a gift recently. I have seen a few large specimen sized Screaming Eagle plants and they were big. I may get one again someday.

I've only been at it since 2001 Ray, but max growth on my plants is close to what I see once you start adding growths. Flower size and number of flowers seems to increase noticabely with additional years.
Is philippinense in the backround of Sreaming Eagle? That species has allot of variation in plant size.

Yes, in the Berenice parent, I believe.
I'm still mad at myself for missing out on getting the one Pete sold. Oh well...it was a nice cross too.

Screaming Eagle is Berenice (phil x lowii) x sanderianum. Beautiful hybrid and expensive!

What's the leaf span of your plant Ray?

The leaf span is 12 to 14 inches across stands from the media up about 7 inches and the spike is about 9 inches with 3 buds swelling up. and your right they are expensive but I saw one three years ago at the NYC show and vowed to have one and that one was a large plant this has another growth that looks like it may bloom before to long also maybe I have a dwarf. LOL Ray

Fred
I'd say that would be small for any of the parent species.

Yes the parents are Berenise and Sanderianum the buds are still getting larger every day so maybe it will be a decent size flower on a small plant. will look strange Ray
