It is sooooo tempting to try to grow some of these guys myself. Friday I bought a venus flytrap. In the summer at Olbrich they have these big pots, I believe they're hypertufa, of Sarracenias that they place out in one of the gardens and I once happened to see them when they were blooming. Amazing!!!
I forgot to mention: These plants are behind a plexiglass barrier in the conservatory to discourage curious hands. That's why the images have kind of a funny blue cast. It's not visible to the naked eye, but for some reason my camera was picking it up.
Thanks for looking and support your local botanical society!

Mark those are great!
...support your local botanical society!
You know, a lot of gardens honor AOS members with reciprocal memberships. It was actually one of the
things that encouraged me to join AOS!

This is true! (However I've dropped my membership) Also, membership in the American Association of Botanical Gardens and Arboreta gets you free or reduced admission to a boatload of participating institutions!
