It won't be too long until we see a new line of Phrag breeding with kovahii. What cross do you think would be cool??

I remember there already being a thread about this subject, but I would like to see a cross with one of the long petaled species. And I think I'm in luck since I have heard that kovachii x wallisii has already been done. So for me it's just waiting when these start to bloom and photos start to circulate.

Yeah, kov x long petaled species Phrags and besseae are my first choices, but good heavens, the possibilities are endless!

I was at the PeruFlora greenhouses where they have the kovachii compots a couple of days ago. The kovachii x czerwiakowianum were huge. Probably a 10 inch leaf span. So it won´t be to long until we see those. The kovachii x wallisii were do well as too. I will pòst pictures when I get to a computer with a decent conection speed.
Kovachii is a fast grower.
The day before I was at their lab where they are in the process of replating a whole bunch of primary crosses. Sorry, no kovachii by fisherii (peru flora doesn´t have any fisherii) and for some reason, despite repeated tries, the kovachii x percei would not take. But they had pretty much everything else thats not really rare.

I would rather see a hybrid that emphasized the round petals of kovachii. Something with bessae, schlimii or fischerii would be great. Also a cross onto something like Jason Fischer, St. Ouen, Elizabeth Castle, etc would be excellent. Reds crossed onto the magenta kovachii's would be exquisite. Pinks onto the rose pink kovachii's would be amazing. If there is an alba form out there, that just opens up a huge color range, especially with a number of alba species out there....
